CHANNEL C BOARD PARTICIPATION
Channel C participants are conscientious Jehovah's Witnesses or former members who share
sincere concerns about Watchtower teachings or wonder why loved ones left "The Truth",
and who seek answers to these deeply disturbing questions across the forboding wall of the
Watchtower shunning policy. Panel members are known to be well-informed on Watchtower issues,
and who are not actively promoting alternative religious dogma nor contentious social or political
ideologies.
To keep discussion focused on our particular interests, Channel C membership is not open to public registration. Participation is by invitation or request to the forum administrator based on personal experience in the Watchtower religion. Registration for membership is submitted by the administrator. The purpose is to keep discussions focused on our unique interests and exclude invasion by perhaps well-meaning individuals who feel a compelling mission to draw Jehovah's Witnesses to their particular faith, as we have seen on other posting forums.
That being said, viewers are welcome and encouraged to submit relevant questions
or comments to the panel for discussion via the
Channel C Questions
email.
For interest in a broader more democratic scope of discussion and participation, viewers are encouraged to check out the numerous other exJW forums on the Net which are either unmoderated or subjective censorship is controlled by moderators.
PREMISE
Channel C is a forum of Christian values for cordial biblical discussion
as it relates to the teachings of the Watch Tower religion, Jehovah's Witnesses,
former members, and the Bible. It is our purpose to consider the Scriptures and their interpretation
in the light of study and modern scholarship that lends to Christian faith independent of church
affiliation or popular denominational doctrines.
Within the limited scope of this forum, discussion is intended to be informative not argued, non-confrontational, and exhibit mutual respect for differences where the Scriptures are not explicit. In this way we hope viewers will find courage to emerge from the bondage of fear, deeply-instilled by authoritarian religious organizations, to question; to build trust in their own God-given conscience, and to discover new avenues for advancing biblical study to make informed personal decisions in matters of faith.
Differing viewpoints on some issues will often be presented for consideration, which may or may not reflect the viewpoint of the board owner, and should not be perceived as promoting doctrine. We are all learning. Hopefully the information presented will be helpful to those struggling with issues of faith when emerging from an authoritarian religion.
As previously mentioned, Channel C is not a platform for preaching alternative religious doctrine nor perpetuating secular social or political ideologies, except as such may relate to the Scriptures, the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, or the focus of this forum. That being said, popular church doctrines and claims of divine authority by various denominations may be openly critiqued from our particular perspective, with a view for Christian freedom. Final conclusion for belief in these matters is left to the individual viewer, who may then be equipped to make a more informed personal decision.
QUESTIONS FOR TOPICAL DISCUSSION FROM VIEWERS
Serious questions to the panel from viewers are welcome and suggestions for
topics of discussion may be considered.
QUESTIONS SHOULD BE BRIEF AND TO THE POINT. Lengthy
or argumentive posts will be discarded without consideration.
Occasionally
the station may host special guests to participate in the discussions, such
as a notable scholar on a particular topic of interest. Knowledgeable individuals
with divergent views on a pertinent subject may visit for debate if the topic
relates to the biblical interests of this forum. Suggestions for submission
should be posted to the Channel C
Questions e-mail. Acceptance of proposals for guests or topics of discussion
shall be at the discretion of the board administrator and members.
